2 The Start

Where do I start. As I walk into my garage and start listing all the things I need to begin my company. I start to lose the high of getting all my stuff back from IRS.

I begin making a list of goals I want to accomplish, nothing too big but small goals that will help me move to the next level. Number 1 Insurance & LLC; 2 getting my name out there; 3 customers; 4 reevaluate.

Step 1

So finding a company that helps setup LLC wasn’t too hard. I honestly thought it would be a lot but in the end it was quite quick and easy. I used North Western Registered Agents which was really easy and great to use. I tried others but when I had questions they only worried about their commission. With NWRA it was quick and every time I had a question it was very quick to get answered and I was not led astray. Now insurance I went with Next real quick and easy. The quick quote to get covered and paid then your good to go. Step 1 completed in 2 days.

Step 2

After completing step 1 I started looking at quick ads. From Facebook, to Angi’s all the way to post cards and buisness’ cards. So I took to google, found vista print created a quick and easy card design using their template. Few clicks in, I was set paid and had buisness cards headed my way. Once in, every where that I went, I had a few on me. Handing them out like candy hoping the return on this investment would be great. future refrence, don’t do that have a strategy. I handed them out at work, friends, families, you name it. I was the Oprah of business cards. Step 2 FAILED!?!?!?!?

Step 3

Customers, where do I start. I had a few from the facebook ads, random one time gigs that were great to start off. I would search facebook and see who needed lawn care services even late into the night. It became an obsession to find those asking for refrences. Finally, I got a client who wanted it done monthly which was a great start. I started posting pictures of my before and after pictures. Started to get a little head way and landed another client. Started a route to last me through a day of non stop mowing creating 1 route of hopefully many. Started to make a dent in the amount I am spending just to startup.

Step 4

Reevaluate, ummm, to be very frank I think this step is going to be a roller coaster ride on reevaluating what happens. 1 month in, I believe it was going smooth; now 2 months in and I am left pondering about ROI’s when it comes to my business card strategy. I will admit just handing out $30 of business cards seem like it would be a great idea….. It’s not if your just handing them out nilly, willy with no strategy. It actually defeated the purpose of it. So 2 months in I had to change that up. I had to reevaluate the ads. The ads were reaching people but why am I not seeing anything. I realized my ads were nothing, mere meaningless due to no substance, no beef, no content. Thus this website was created.

Website, it was a bit of a whim, but, hey, you have to take advantage of any opportunities given to you; even if it was your own idea. So I am at work looking up parts for a machine and cant find a single thing. So I search the manufacture, brought the specs up and locate what I need. My mind tends to wander as most of you can probably see through the writing. However, I had taken my family out to dinner Longhorn to be exact after a day at work. On a whim at 10:30 pm, I decided let’s buy a desktop specifically for the business.
